The Diet Of Wolves In Switzerland

A nationwide study looked at the range of prey eaten by Swiss wolves. It involved analysing around 350 interpretable samples of wolf faeces. The study revealed that 83% of the prey eaten by wolves in Switzerland is wild animals and 17% is livestock.

On Maundy Thursday 2024, a second female Swiss lynx was released in the German Ore Mountains as part of the «RElynx Sachsen» project.

Swiss Lynx Successfully Translocated

The Swiss lynx B891 was released on 18 March 2024 in eastern Germany, specifically in the Ore Mountains in Saxony, as part of the «RElynx Saxony» project supported by the Federal Office for the Environment. The lynx, which originates from the Jura Mountains, is intended to help establish a lynx population in Saxony that will contribute to the conservation of the lynx in Europe.
