Carnivore Damage Prevention News (CDPNews) is a professional newsletter focused on the complex challenges presented by the coexistence of large carnivores and human activities.In this, the first issue of a new series, you can read about the design and testing of damage prevention tools such as fencing to exclude predators. In addition, we feature the results of efforts to improve understanding of socio-economic and cultural contexts; to facilitate dialogue among stakeholders; and, even more broadly, to elucidate psychological aspects of how and why conflicts arise and escalate. The challenge – and necessity – of building bridges between science and practice is also illustrated in our interview and perspective piece.
