Lynx on dispersal

The KORA report no. 118 is available. It deals with the estimation of the number of lynx in the area "Jura South", more precisely in the cantons of Neuchâtel and Vaud from Lake Geneva almost to Neuchâtel. The migration of lynx B866 stands out in particular.

For a coexistence of wolves and cattle farmers

Switzerland is currently home to around 300 wolves and around 1.5 million cattle. Cow husbandry is considered a cultural asset and it is impossible to imagine Switzerland without it. Although the main food of wolves is wild animals and especially cervids, farm animals are also killed. Mostly sheep are affected, sometimes also large farm animals such as cattle or donkeys. A broad-based KORA project is finding out under which conditions low-conflict coexistence can succeed.
