I studied ecology at the University of Zurich, and conducted my Msc thesis on wolf population dynamics in the northern Apennine, Italy. Thereafter, I completed my PhD at KORA and the University of Basel on the scent-marking and hunting behaviour of wild Eurasian lynx in the Bernese Oberland. I subsequently worked as a postdoc in the project Impact of lynx predation and hunting on chamois at KORA and the University of Basel. Currently, I am co-leader of the Lynx conservation in Switzerland: genetics, health and demography project at KORA, carried out in collaboration with the Centre for Fish and Wildlife Health (FIWI), and I also coordinate the Linking Lynx network.
