Lynx in the Swiss Plateau
Lynx are increasingly expanding into the Swiss Plateau. A new KORA report shows that this densely populated and heavily human-influenced area provides suitable habitat for lynx. At the same time, insufficient connectivity between Switzerland’s lynx populations remains a major risk factor for the species.

CARNIVORE DAMAGE PREVENTION NEWS
This anniversary issue marking 25 years of CDP News (Issue 31) presents a range of studies and contributions on the coexistence of humans and large carnivores. It covers conflicts between wolves and livestock based on a case study in Croatia, as well as collaborative approaches to mitigating conflicts with bears and wolves in the American West. Further studies examine behavioural changes in humans and wildlife and the role of territoriality in wolf depredation. The issue is complemented by contributions on perceptions and misconceptions surrounding large carnivores, as well as practical experiences from livestock farming in Europe.
